Description
Our awapuhi soap is seasonal as the awapuhi only flowers in the summer months. This wild ginger is a canoe plant, meaning it was introduced into the Islands by early Polynesian settlers traveling by canoe. Awapuhi is sometimes called the native wild shampoo ginger. This soap is made with our very own awapuhi flower and coconut water harvested from our coconuts. Juice is extracted from the ginger by gently squeezing the flower. Awapuhi is often used as a shampoo and conditioner for the hair. It also has some healing properties which make it especially nice as a bath soap.
