The goal for the new year was to update this blog weekly with things happening on our farm obviously it’s February so I’m a little late. But today will start the effort to keep this up weekly . Last night we had a really nice heavy rain. I’ve always found rain nice especially when I sleep . But for families on catchment, rain is especially welcome. For those unfamiliar “being on catchment” means that we gather all our water from rain. We do not have county water plumbed into our home, it’s all rainwater that we “catch” and then store. There’s something comforting knowing that your tanks are getting filled with water for your family to use. Below are some pictures of vegetable starts planted yesterday. I would label them so you would know each is but unfortunately we got them a little confused so I’m not sure what each of them are. I do know that we’re growing some beans and peas, some eggplant, some tea, and some pumpkin , I can’t remember the rest. We need to do a better job labelling the things we grow. Hope you enjoy the pictures of the rain and the plants.
