I love three day weekends! Our Brazil cherry tree is in bloom. Also known as a grumichama cherry it is native to Brazil. It has a very short season about 30 days from flower to fruit. Once the cherries come out, they ripen very quickly. I picked a little over a gallon today, and decided to make some jelly. By next week most of them will have fallen off the tree. They are sweet and cherry tasting but are rather soft -not firm like a regular cherry.
David roasted some coffee this morning that we will be sending to my dad for his 79th birthday day. We also dried some bananas in the dehydrator. After slicing them you soak them in lime juice and put them on racks. Right now the whole house smells like bananas.
We also picked some carrots, radishes, sour sop, tons of tomatoes, and gathered eggs.
I need to make some salsa out of the tomatoes but after cutting 10 racks of bananas I’m a little over cutting fruits right now. Wish my parents were here to enjoy the spring weather, it’s always nice during this season and they would enjoy the garden.
